Finding Grace, Brugman's first book, is still my favourite, but she has received critical acclaim for everything she's written so far, and no one should be surprised if her success continues with Being Bindy.

Brugman's novel flows beautifully, and you can almost believe that Shelby the heroine is sitting next to you, confiding her story into the reader.

To me, Alyssa's books capture the true essence of the love and bond shared between a girl and her pony. This dedication is beautifully blended into plots that feature true to life situations which we all at times encounter in the 'Horsey World'. Alyssa has a light and entertaining style but is also adept at portraying humour, suspense, compassion and intrigue. The human characters are those you feel you may have met before. You may even recognise parts of your own self in the books somewhere! The horsey characters are a delight, you can feel yourself developing a connection with them too. Alyssa is one of the few modern pony book authors who come highly recommended by the older readership group. The Shelby Series is an excellent pony series, which seems by consensus of opinion to be one of the best of the modern pony series around!

Dear Readers,

Thank you for your patience! It has been a long while since we've had an opportunity to update the site.

Over the last twelve months we have been lucky enough to inherit some lovely new horses. Look out for Liebe, Lily and Brass Razoo, who you can see in the 'My horses' section of the site.

Along with our two sons, we are expecting another baby in November 2010. I am also currently working on my PhD with Canberra University, which is keeping me very busy.

The most recent novel, 'Girl Next Door', was released in 2009, and is available in bookshops now.

It's always nice to know there are people out there enjoying the books and equally delightful to share some ideas for new stories, so feel free to send me an email.

Personalised Children's book.

Alyssa can write a personalised story book for your child.

You will need to email 10 to 20 photos of your child. Photos in consecutive order work the best. These stories are not standardised. Each story is individually written by Alyssa specifically for your child

These beautiful quality, hard cover books of up to 20 pages (depending on how many photos you provide), are 15 cm squared, and cost $220 each, including gst. Additional copies are available for $110 each. Payment is by direct deposit or through Paypal.

These books make wonderful, unique birthday or Christmas gifts. Allow a turnaround time of about 30 days.
