My Horses - The Girls
Istana Khazra (Kaz).
Kaz is by Talquah Jazaar
out of Istana Kourtney. She's a chestnut Arabian mare,
14.2hh. She will be 18 this year.
Kaz has been with me
for about 5 years now.
We went to our last
hack show in 2007 (where she won Champion Arabian Mare
- not bad for a 17 year old).
She has brought home
many broad ribbons, but what she loves best is galloping
around in the bush.
Kaz has chronic laminitis,
and so is on a restricted diet.

Landliebe
Liebe is a lovely warmblood mare by Landor.
She came to us at 20 and with some ongoing
lameness issues.
We have been able to make her sound, and
put her into light work.

Lily
Lily is an ex-showjumping thoroughbred.
Lily is a gorgeous looking mare who has been very well
educated and cared for.
When she arrived she did have some anxiety, which has
been relieved by treating her for ulcers, and she also
had a headshake when ridden bitted.
She doesn't do that when ridden in a Dr Cook's bitless
bridle. Hoof problems have been resolved with mineral
balancing of her diet.
Lily is now back in light work and is teaching me how
to jump.

temperament.
Bones came here with a club foot,
which we have been able to put back into working order.

Jay
Bird
Jay Bird is a lovely purebred
Arabian mare, standing about 14 hands.
She's an older lady who has come to us to retire, perhaps
with some light trail riding.
Jay Bird is a people person. She runs to meet us at the gate.
We still have a way to go getting her hooves under control
after being turned out for some time.
| Claire Mare
Claire Mare was rescued from a very difficult
life.
She was very timid, and head shy, as well
as having some arthritis. We were able to give her a
very comfortable and relaxed few years.
We decided to put Claire Mare down earlier
this year as we felt this winter would be too tough
for her.
